Did they use the letter "D" in 1970?

Production Date: July 1970
Engine Casting Date: D 20 0
Can someone help me out!

Yes casting dates used D in 1970 and other years. D = April, in your example April 20, 1970. Engine was produced in July? That is the assembly stamp reads V07XXCTJ?
