327/350 HP considered Spec High Perf?

All - looking to order a few parts for a friends 1966 327 350 HP car he just got last night. In looking at Paragon's catalog it lists for 327 and 327 Special High Performance. Is the 350 HP considered Special High Performance? Thanks

That's correct Eric. It was one of only two different 327's for the 66 model year. The 300 HP was base and the 350 was Sp.H/per.

the '65-'67, L79 327/350 HP engines used hydraulic lifters, not solid lifters.

Any small-block midyear with an aluminum intake manifold was categorized as an "SHP" engine by GM.

Where there was a need to differentiate ...

the parts catalogs added (w/Hyd. lifters) to the Sp. H/Per. designation [check Gr. 0.519, Camshaft for example]
