    C2 decals

    C2 Fans:

I have a few questions about some of the decals and stickers that go on 1966 and 1967 C2s. Your help and comments are appreciated. Thanks.

    1. For a 1967 small block 327/300 I believe the "Flint #1 Team" sticker is applied to the front of the right valve cover. Correct? Was there also an engine code (ie "HE") sticker applied to the rear of the right valve cover?

    2. On a 1966 small block 327/300, I believe the carpet inspection sticker and the JP Stevens stickers go on the underside of the jack board. Correct? If so, where exactly do they go (the corner? the middle? anywhere?) Where are they in relation to each other?

    3. 0n a 1966 small block 327/300, was a sticker bearing a part number applied to the front stabilizer bar?

    Thanks again,

    Jim C.

That's a loaded question! JP Stevens applied these lables and then St. Louis final assy folks put on their labels (jacking instructions, positraction warning, Etc.). I've seen more than one original jackboard where the Steven's label was partially or completely covered by the Chevy labels which is why I cut owners the benefit of the doubt when judging and I can't find the Steven's label...

      Jim,

I think most will agree, there was not a part number sticker on the front stab bar, at least through the 63-67 era.

        Jim -

You have the engine sticker locations correct. Several vendors sell a sticker for the standard front stabilizer bar, but Chevy never used one.

            Bill -

I should have been more specific - the base (3/4" dia.) bar didn't have an I.D. sticker.
