    Need help identifying a capacitor (1969)

    This was a "left over part" from when I had my dash apart some 18 years ago and at the time I couldn't for the life of me remember where it went. I still can't figure out where it should be so I thought I'd post the pic in hopes that someone can help. Oh, did I mention that I never throw any Corvette parts out:)


    Any ideas???

    Judging from the connection type, does the AIM radio package require a cap for the brake switch? If so, is yours present?

      Yes Bill it does but it looks like mine is there...taped to the harness as per the AIM.

        It looks to me like the 801249 cap that installed beneath the ignition switch screw that's lost its inline connecting terminal. Take a look at your copy of the AIM, UPC U69 Section, where radio RF capacitors are called out. Look for a behind the dash view showing the installation of the stop lamp switch capacitor and you should see the cap I'm refering to...
