Re: Do you mean bounce or 2 different VIN derivati
looks like same number - different angle - digits look a little faded?
this car has a restoration motor in it - but retains many original parts - also is a 3 owner car formerly owned by alan morris(i think hes a judge)- he got car topflighted in 02 - however someone discarded the undercar exhaust and put sidepipes on it - i was wondering if it could still get a top flight with the side exhaust and bc./cc deduction

Re: Do you mean bounce or 2 different VIN derivati
Ken, If you see a real pretty 65 stamped dead nuts 100% perfect you might want to look further at the car. But it is not uncommon to see a 65 stamped several times on the boss or the area next to the boss closest to the distributor. Numbers may go up hill or down hill. Remember chassis was moving. Al Grenning has a collection of pics showing 65 stamped all over the place. Sometimes the number is crudely X ed out and rehit again. Sometime only part of the number is showing. Remember same tool holder used to stamp engine pad as FI plenum. Not an exact science on the plenums. Sometimes they were not stamped at all even though they were supposed to be. Lots of Dec 64 and Jan 65 cars were missed. Judging manuals now reflect this which is nice. John- Top

Ken, Same number of course. Just sloppy work. No door prize. Gene came to Carlisle and said to me," DId you find the stamped FI for my car yet." Poor guy has been looking for original stamped FI for his orig 65 for at least 30 years.- Top
