I have been going to Corvettes at Carlisle for over 20 years. It always seems like a great crowd who are very respectful of other's cars. I have left my '69 in the "Corvette Parking" areas without any problems, but never left a car overnight in the display areas. I am considering taking my '57 next year. But, frankly, I don't know if I have the guts let it out of my sight.
Questions:
1. What are others experiences with leaving cars overnight in display tents, etc.?
2. Do you put covers on them at night and/or take any other precautions?
3. Somebody claimed this year that their car was damaged by paint remover overnight (red mid-year convertible). Anybody know if this was found to be a bogus claim, or determined to be verified? (I saw the damaged car, but the circumstances seemed odd to me.)
4. Any other suggestions are welcomed.
Again, I have the greatest respect for the attendees and the show management, just wouldn't want to do anything stupid.
Thanks,
Dave
