I recently have been looking for a set of NOS hood hinges, my originals are worn out. I am trying to decipher the little differences in the various versions that I have found, I know about the spring washers and the W symbol with a line, but I am unclear on the waffle pattern on the head of the rivet. My 64's original are flat with no waffle pattern, I have seen a 67 set with waffle knurl pattern, does anyone know whaht characteristics go with which years?

Re: C2 - Hood Hinges
Dino, Just looked at my hindges on a Mar 64 that have not been replace after spring of 66. (At present unable to trace back to 64)
Pass side has waffle with the W
Dr side is flat without the W
Oh - what is the story on the W??
Neither have been painted or show any indication of paint, JG will not like that - however I'm leaving alone and will take the point hit since more information may come about.
Hope this helps - it probally just makes it worst.- Top

Wayne,
Are you saying hood hinges on AO Smith bodies weren't painted with blackout, or any other coating prior to blackout??- Top

Re: C2 - Hood Hinges
Checked my E64 (Nov63) last night. Head of pivot pin has 4 slashes as stated in the 63/64 JG. "W" on outboard side of drivers side and inboard side of pass. "E" headmark on all bolts. Underneath blackout is orig.exterior white paint on bolthead and hinge. Hope this helps.- Top
