I have a 1980 vette. I am looking for a little round part that the wire for the horn runs through down inside the steering column. As near as I can tell, it's function should be to hold the wire in place.
If anyone has a part number, an official part name, or even a link to someplace I can buy this part, please let me know!
It's called a "directional signal switch and horn wiring protective COVER". For your 1980, all of which were equipped with tilt-tele wheel, the part number was GM #7833471. Unfortunately, this part was discontinued in October, 1992. Even Dr. Rebuild, who usually has most of the 69-82 steering column parts, I don't think has this one (unless he's "holding one back for personal use" which is completely understandable). Try calling Specialty Parts Warehouse at 334-493-1240.
