Can anyone please explain the Julian date stamped on Corvette parts, and what is the difference between Julian date and English calaneder date, or are they one in the same?

The various Judging Guide books typically explain their own reference to Julian dating by giving an example like 031X which means the 31st day of year X....

julian date is- day--month--year--(military)--opposed to month--day--year,(cast date on mfg) auto parts we are used tothere is another dating system but i cannot remember 2--? coors fog my memory--i think the other is a progressive day by day--1 would be jan 1st 180 would be june 31st or ? whatever day by day count---

Julian Date is as Jack said Jan31= 031X=year
Feb 28th=059X
March31=090X
April30=120X
For automatic transmissions they started at the model year and after 365 made Jan 30=395 in some years.
