I have two "bowden" cables that I am sure are 63-67 (I've had them 25 years) but don't know their correct application. They are heater/AC related cables but I dont know it they are for air or non air cars. They are both 37 inches long, have "INDAK" on the switch end have five male terminals. The rod in the middle appears to have four positions when you turn it. There is an old tag hanging from one with the number 9.787 and 3861_05. They are with a "u" shaped metal "clip" with an original "Dealer Picking Tag" with pn 03901794 and a date of 7/12/77 on it. Do I have something of use or junk I should throw away. Any help would be appreciated.

Dave-----
The cables are probably GM #3864605. These are the cable for the blower switch and air inlet control for 64-67 Corvettes with A/C. However, the OVERALL length of this cable should be 38.75". This part is GM-discontinued, so I'm sure that there is somebody out there that would love to have them. I sure wouldn't throw them away.
The clip part number will require additional research using resources that I don't have available in my office. I'll report later if I find anything. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: What are these things?
Jim----
Regarding the GM #3901794 part, this is a 1967-issued part number. However, the only Corvette application that I can find for it is for an engine wiring harness-to-dash clip for 1977-82 Corvettes. I do believe, though, that this clip was used on 68-82 Corvettes. As far as I can tell, it was a Corvette-only part; not a general-use type of item. It has been GM-discontinued for several years. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: What are these things?
Joe,
Yes, the 3901794 is a "J" shaped clip found, I would suppose among other places, in the engine compartment of at least the 1968 Corvettes. According to a variety of pages in the 68 AIM they are used to hold wiring harnesses at the dash and forward areas of the engine compartment.
One interesting note, on one page they are listed as a "clip L.H." and part 3943600 is listed as "R.H." TBarr #24014- Top
