    C2-67 Cigar Lighter Elements

I know a 63 Casco 12V lighter element is correct for a 67. Did all C2's use the same 63 Casco element?

I just came across a couple of elements which have no number, only Casco 12V from a 60's GM car. I tried one in my 67 and found that they work better then the repro I have now (76 Casco). Actually the barrel of the no number one is about 3/16" longer than the repro with a total length of about 1".

I think these elements came out of the rear seat of a deluxe GM as the element coils look like they have never been used----until now.

    What have I got?

63 Casco 12V with the porcelin ring behind the element is the one to have.

NOS 63 Casco 12V (showing porcelain)

As Bill said. I think they were used in '63 and '64 as well (if not, others will let us know).

I retracted the spring loaded shroud to expose the porcelain.

          Thanks, Wayne

A picture is worth a thousand words.

The one's that I have, have a copper ring but not touching the sides of the housing.

            How long is the housing?

            Wayne

Is it the 1" one or about 1/8" shorter.

            Thanks,

              0.875" by dial caliper

or 7/8", with the element retracted in the shroud. the 3 bend tabs on the knob end add about another 6 thou if included in the measurement.

              Regards, Wayne
