My 62 is getting pretty low in the rear, the leaf springs have never been touched since new, and I am looking for some solutions to correct it to it's original ride height and how and where this measurement should be taken. The car is a base 250 hp, 4 speed car which I intend to leave as it is. Would after market replacements be best, or should I have someone rearch the originals, and if so with who. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Depends on how much you want to spend fixing the problem. Replacement springs are a little over two hundred, having yours rearched and rebuilt is over six hundred and the only one I know that does a good job is Eaton Spring in Michigan. I went with replacements because my 62 is and always will be a driver.
As for the measurements on ride height it is on the very first page of the ST-12 manual, if you don't have one e-mail me and I will send you a copy of that page.

If your going top flight spend what ever it takes , But if you wont to keep it reasonable and only lose a few points do as I did buy AIR SHOCKS , My original rear springs are weak plus I pull a trailer , air shocks are about $100.00 paint them black and you can set the rear height where you wont. My 55 rides great and if my wife over loads the trailer I just add a little more air.- Top

Re: 62 Leaf Spring Tired
Hi Gary
Take a real good look and see if any of your springs are broken where they lay over the rear axle housing.Sometimes it's hard to see if it's covered with dirt. This can cause a lower ride. I had this happen to my 1956 Chevy ( non corvette ).I ended up replacing the one spring and all was corrected.
Good Luck...John- Top
