    63-67 Headlight Bezel # Question

    Gentlement

Could someone please tell me which year (63-67) a headlight bezel with the GM part # 3845801 would be for? I aquired it along with a nos 5port windshield washer pump (70-71 only) and I'm not sure which yr. its for! I have a 63! Thanks in advance

    "CE"-----

GM #3845801 is the correct left side headlight bezel for 1964-1967 Corvettes. The right side bezel is GM #3845802. These parts will also SERVICE 1963 Corvette applications, but are not the parts originally used. Those parts were GM #3827009-left and GM #3827010-right.

        Re: 5 port

C.E., Since you won't be needing that old 5-port pump on your 63, you can send it to: Bob Cook, 8047 Moss Meadows Dr., Dallas ,Tx. 75231

        Thank You!!!!!

          Hello Bob

Well to tell you the truth! I do also have a 70, but it is a driver (#'s don't match) but it probably wont go on it! Not sure what I'll do with it, it was available so I bought it! Might just set and look at it a while-never seen one that wasn't broken before!!!

Keep waving (see prior string of posts)

Hey Joe. Just for our information, I have observed several different styles of 63 bezels. Some with slots, some without, some early with holes in the front ,laters with holes in the sides. Would be interesting to know how many varations there were. There were at least three possibly more HL bucket styles as well.

              Wayne-----

Well, I've been able to confirm 2 styles of bezels/housings used for and unique to 1963 models.

The first bezels were GM #3827009 and 3827010. The first housings were GM #3827429 and 3827430. These parts were the only ones EVER available in SERVICE for 1963 models.

Later in the model year (after about May, 1963, I believe) the bezels were changed to GM #3842041 and 3842042. The housings were changed to GM #3848035 and 3848036. These parts were NEVER available in SERVICE, as far as I can tell.

I believe that the early style bezels were attached with screws that went through the FRONT of the bezels. The later style had screws that went through the SIDES of the bezels. The change in the housings was, I believe, a change made to accomodate the new method of bezel attachment.

If there were other variations, I can find no record of them and I am unaware of them.
