I have most of the ignition shielding, I think. A little confused on the shielding that goes on header, I have four plug shields but only two horizontal wire shields. Is this right or is there hortz. shields for both sides. I also have the "v" shields. The shields that I have are not very pretty anymore. Should they be set for crome or replaced. Thanks Ed

Yes, your engine should have all 4 spark plug heat shields (the zinc plated variety that attach to the block with a single 1/4-20 bolt each). Also, you should have only the RF shields that cover the rear 2 spark plugs on each side; front shields were not used. You should also use the "v" shields on both sides.
As far as chroming goes, some of the original RF shields were chrome plated and some were stainless steel. The left rear horizontal is usually stainless steel. The right rear I'm not sure about at the moment, but I think that it was stainless, too.
The "v" shields were not stainless. They were either very thinly chrome plated or they were zinc. I'm not sure which. I've seen some that I really thought were zinc plated, but they might have been chrome so thin that it looked like zinc.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Ed, I believe the V-shields were all flash chrome plated.
