Quick 64 owners survey - VIN vs Raised Pad on Door

My question goes out to all owners of 64's (coupe or convertible) regarding their approximate VIN (123XX format) and if their car has the raised pad or not at the door handle / lock cylinder area.

The picture below was recently posted here by Joe #930. With the Feb 6 date on the pic, we can conclude this car is approximately VIN 10600. Hard to tell, but I do not see this feature in this picture.

The 63/4 JG states the transition point to be approx VIN 15000. If results of this survey indicate otherwise, I'll include the info with the rest of my package to Carlton.

I'm NOT interested in rehashing the hardtop notch question. lets focus on just the raised pad.

    thanks,
    tc

Ask Joe #930 to send you a hi-res pic

I have his original posting at 400kB and I still can't tell, although I tend to vote for this convertible having an early style door; that is, the handle is almost parallel to the ground, whereas the later style C2 had a definite upward tilt (and with no pad on the doorskin).

I would imagine that the changeover timing would be the same for coupe and convertible doors; otherwise 2 designs of handles would be required.

I think Joe has scanned these from large professional quality photos; if he could generate a several megabyte file, then crop to the door area, this would help to define what the plant was doing at that date.
