But is it real?
Yes we can find picture of white ZL1 from that great collection. So two were made one with manual transmission (suffix: ME) and yellow one is with manual transmission and also with papers that indicates it. The white one should be with automatic transmission (suffix: MG), but in the website pictures you can see clutch pedal in white car!
Main problem is still, is there four more original ZL1 without original motor out there?

Re: But is it real?
KTM:
I have been a ZL1 fan since it's inception, tried everything short of crime to get the funds together in 69 to purchase one to no avail. I have therefore been a frustrated wannabe ZL1 owner ever since, have read every published article I could find and have never seen any mention of this story.

"NO Doubt" Plenty
Tony:
I don't mean to offend anyone but because you have personal knowledge of Roger's yellow ZL1 it does not necessarily follow that there is "No doubt that others were assembled off line " unless you were turning the wrenches or were present at the time as no documentation exists to date to support this claim.

Re: But is it real?
Hi BR:
Please don't misunderstand, I never intended to question the honesty of your post , never would however I always view the printed media with a grain of salt. I have read things printed about me from interviews with me that, when finally printed, no longer reflected what actually transpired. Considering thirty one years have passed since the ZL1s were put together you would think other information to support this claim would have surfaced by now. So many factory people have participated in the research of these and other Corvettes that it seems someone would have said something by now, after all these two / six cars are the rarest Corvettes ever produced and have been looked at very closely.

I'm sure they'll turn up...
...most probably on Long Island where all manner of amazingly rare cars seem to turn up. Not only that, but after the cars surface they'll also find a guy who has all 4 original aluminum blocks and has been using them as legs for his workbench for 30 years.
