as having never attended an ncrs event, can anyone tell me if i am able to drive to this event, and just walk around as a spectator. or is this event just for the specific purpose of having your particular corvette judged and only open to the participants? all the info i can find just shows a form to participate in the event with your car being judged. i live about 40 minutes from the event and thought it would be a great way to see some of the really nice cars around the region. i was hoping i could just pay an admission fee and enter as a spectator like a regular car show, any info is appreciated, thanx. #41829

Re: new england regionals
Mike,
Regional and National Events accept spectators even if you are not an NCRS member. You will most likely be charged an admission fee to perticipate in viewing for the entire day. You won't be able to attend the judging schools, seminars, or other activities associated with the event -- just spectating.

Re: new england regionals
Mike,
I just returned from the show today (Friday) and admission was $7.00
Like you I have never attended such an event and live in the next town from the event so I went today just to check it out.

Re: new england regionals
Mike, Yes and yes. Stop by; pay $7; and, see 120+ spectacular cars. Talk to lots of people just like you. Find resources, both local and national, that you never dreamed existed. Meet nice people with whom you already have much in common.
Kurt, So, tell us what it was like. Did you enjoy it? Give us your report.- Top

Re: new england regionals
Chris,
It was pretty good. I was one of the few people there who was not there to have a car judged. There were extremely few "outsiders" like me but then it was also 11AM and many people may have been working. I am going back tomorrow with a friend who is working on a 67 and perhaps sinc eit is Saturday it will be more crowded. There were quite a few C2s there but I have a 68 coupe and I only saw a couple of 68s and they were big blocks and mine is a small block. I was looking to take pictures of small block engine compartments.
I must be honest and say that I felt a little depressed after having just finished a 10 year resto on my car and after seeing all these gorgeous and perfectly restored cars, I don't think I would even come close to a TopFlight even though I used the NCRS Judging & Technical Manual as my Bible.
I listened to Terry McManmum review Dave Stricklands car (up on a lift) and that was EXTREMELY interesting. Also, the Meguiar representative gave me a personal hands on tutorial of how to polish a car with a dual action orbital buffer so I learned something.
I got the impression that this event was open to the genral public but really intended more for NCRS members who were there to have a car judged or PVd.
To be honest, if my car were there, I wouldn't want a bunch of ice cream eating kids or baby carriages coming in for a look. Accidents happen and these cars were to nice to be subjected to that. there were 6 or 7 pristine 53/54s in attendance as well.
You can't go wrong for 7 bucks. You get to see nice cars, meet the owners, and if you learn on thing or get one tip, it was well worth the admission.
