    Heater core replacement on C2

My rebuilt engine is in but the heater core is leaking. I was wondering how tough a job it is to replace.
    thanks

I did this a few years ago and it was fairly simple. Mostly grunt work but not difficult at all. If I remember correctly, there is a nice article in The Restorer a number of years ago about this. I don't remember the author (I think it was Gary Beaupre?) but it had a very nice description of the work. In my case, the hardest thing I had to deal with was the condition of fiberglass box on the engine side. I would guess that having a/c would complicate the issue.

As a suggestion, I would pressure test the heater core before you install it. More than a few failed, new heater cores have been reported here. The other suggestion is to go into Dr. Rebuild's web site and order the seal kit for the heater box. Finally, take lots of photos as you take things apart.

Good advice from Gary. I replaced my 66 core with AC last year. The AC heater core is different than non AC cars. Glove box comes out and everything is then in front of you. *Pressure test the new one first! Patience goes a long way is this repair.
