    Art..I believe it is good that you are concerned about the working defintion of the term Work Order.

    That said..the information in the Work Orders you and others have is far more important. Vette Vues publishing the fact that the 9 fin valve covers were milled at Flint as an engineering deviation authorized by the resident engineer... with labor costs covered by a local workorder leading to the re-tooling that resulted in the new 7 fin valve covers..is important Corvette history.

    If you began to share a piece of that information once a month..you could do so for the rest of your life and not even scratch the surface..but be a giant contributor of previously unreported Corvette History.

    Rather than wait for others to struggle to find this missing information ...you could take the lead and help immeasurably.

    That sounds good Joe, but the CEC WO system was a very complex system and did not generally deal directly with PRODUCTION issues which is what everyone here is interested in knowing about....i.e. the way it might effect their cars or ones they would like to compare it to. Another factor is that I don't have access (wish I did) to all of the WO's and the way the system worked would require complete access to that system as one WO would/could lead you to other WOs in order to get a complete picture on just one subject.

    The WO for YOUR car is another matter and is very unusual as it directly connects your ENGINEERING prepared car to it. With that said, it STILL does not give the complete story of your car, but I know it references other WOs that would be helpful but not required to fully document your car.
