It's Engr #6901 - a reworked 55 chassis with what once was the "prototype" 1956 body - note the absence of front fender scoops. When repainted it would appear at Daytona in the Modified class and average 147+; it would then lose the fin and run the 12 hours of Sebring and finish 9th.
The red/white '56 appeared at Daytona Beach a a pace car, probably driven by Betty Skelton.
