I have a 66 427/390 hp engine. The flywheel's inside diameter is 13 1/4 inches. It's the original flywheel and looks to be in great shape. Should I use a 10 1/2 or 11 inch disc? What is the difference? Thanks for your help. Hector

Re: C-2 friction disc
The 11" disc has more surface area and should withstand more torque. I don't know if the bolt patterns will be the same....
In either case, no matter how "good" the flywheel looks DEFINITELY have it resurfaced (about $35). A new disc on a used surface doesn't add up to a winning combination.....- Top

Hector----
I don't know how you're measuring the flywheel. However, there were only 2 flywheel diameters used for all 1963-81 Corvettes. Those sizes were 12-3/4" and 14". Your 1966 L-36 originally used a 14" flywheel. I'm sure that's what you still have. With this flywheel use an 11" friction disc.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
