Depending on the image, it will take a few seconds to upload your image.

Once it uploads a new screen will appear that will look like this

            Excellent Tutorial Travis

And I went though all the parts.

But it is much faster to resize your images first to 640 X 480 before your upload to imageshack, rather then have them do it. It is a faster upload for images one at a time and you don't have to click the resize button. I usually resize prior to upload, save and add a -sm to the picture name.

Also remember to paste a copy of the image in the text, like this:

That way you can always go back to the post, copy and paste it to another post without going back to imageshack. Also useful if you want to paste multiple images in one post. You just go back and forth from imageshack to the post, copy then paste.

              Jerry,

              Nice Ride!

Jerry is right. If you resize your pictures before hand the uploads will be a bit quicker. I usually resize them as well, but to make the guide less complicated I just used the feature on ImageShack. There are many ways to do all this.

If anyone is interested, microsoft has a free utility for windows XP that will resize photos for you. Image Resizer, enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click.

You can download the application from here (only for windows XP):

Also another tip is that over at ImageShack you can register for free and get:

              Benefits of Registration:
Keep track of all the images and photoblogs you ever upload.
              Get image code faster.
Have the ability to delete and undelete your images!
Upload batch multiple images, with the ability to resize them upon upload.
              Registration is absolutely free!

Unlimited space to host images, easy to use image uploader, albums, photo hosting, sharing, dynamic image resizing on web and mobile.

              Have fun.

Free image hosting? Is there some kind of trick, or is this the internet equivalent of the free lunch?

                  Terry -

There aren't many "free" hosting sites left, but there are some (like Village Photos, www.villagephotos.com) that still allow direct linking, although with limits on the number of images stored and daily access bandwidth. I pay about $3.00 per month for my premium account at Village Photos, which lets me store up to 6,000 images with unlimited access bandwidth, unlimited eBay auction photo hosting, lots of handy image editing tools, and much simpler operation for upload/download/external URL linking. I can take a photo in the garage, upload it, tag it for linking, and have it up on this board in less than a minute.
