    Can't Start Planning Too Early...

I received the new Driveline today, and mentioned to my wife that the 2007 National was in the Boston area...She sez "We should do that!". Huh? What?..."Uh, Sure, Dear, I'm always up for an NCRS meet...even one 2400+ miles away (estimated driving time 36 hours, 59 minutes...No, we will not be driving.) I hear the seafood up there is legendary."

So, you Yankees get busy and gin up a "good shew", cuz she'll have our itinerary planned by the end of the day.

Glad to have ya' Chuck, but don't forget you'll be in Red Sox territory, so go easy on the "Yankee" thing.

Good point...I'll tell her to be sure and leave her "Nuh Yawk Yankees" hat at home. We'll buy Sox hats if there's an outing to Fenway.

        Seafood

"Legal Seafood" is an establishment you HAVE to try. Best seafood I had in Boston.

The New England clam chowder at the banquet was the best I have ever had. Even though the portion was small the taste was heaven. The Best Western chefs really knew how to make chowder. Ate some Thursday night in the lounge restaurant and it was sooo good. Worth the trip just for the clam chowder let alone the 200 plus Corvettes. Those of you that missed the event missed one of the best ever. Had the feeling of a national event in many ways even though it was a regional. Can't see how the national event next year will top the one last week. Maybe a little longer in days but otherwise about the same. First class all the way. Thanks again, John

we just came back from a week in NE and

you are right the chowder is great BUT you can't say the same for the roads. they are even in worst shape than PAs as my C-6 now has rattles were even the bad PA roads did not cause this. NE roads are like washboards. also a lot of the people that work the resturants are very rude and not willing to help with any problems.

Clem, I didn't know you were at the event. Where were you. Did you see the little white car? You are right about the roads. Rough ride pulling a big trailer with a heavy duty rough riding GMC yukon. No wonder my horn on the 63 crapped out. But the ride was worth it. Too bad we didn't connect. John

Re: we just came back from a week in NE and

Dave Cardina restored my 63. Want me to take it back to Marlborough next year for the national. I said to him Dave that was one of the worst tows I have ever had. 10 times worse than going down 79-19-77-81-40 to Knoxville. The Northern Pa and NE roads suck a fat one. My Yukon XL now has a rattle too. Never had a rattle before. I tried to sleep in the back seat while Dave drove the rig some and couldn't. Ride was horrible. If you do go back to the national next year make sure you put you Corvette in secured parking-otherwise it will be gone. John

Chuck - You're right. That's why they invented airplanes. See ya there. And you can really be on the See Food diet. Pete

The Boston regional was first class but the only fish I saw was the Lobsters on the shirts & Hats and a bowl of chowder at the banquet.

There is a Legal Seafood establishment in Framingham -- next town -- Framingham. About 23 miles from the Best Western. Great food.

                          Re: Seafood

Being a "native" of the Northshore (BEST FISH AREA.) we took off the Friday (Car was judged Saturday) and spent the day north of Boston out near Marblehead, Swampscott, Lynn and Nahuant. We had the best Lobster and Clam Chowder you could get...."Kelley's" Route 1 in Saugus... Legal Sea food is OK but its for tourist and has become a chain. You want great fish.... you got to the "Porthole" pub in Lynn, on the Lynnway....No you are talking real New England fish... Maybe the Northshore Corvette Club should plan a cruise out to Kellys or Porthole during the National for all of the guests coming to New England and at the sametime cruise the Lynn to Swampscott beach area.....

Remember Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, Beverly, etc are all on the Northshore, and some of the best seafood in the world are in these LITTLE diners dotted along the coast line....
