C2 paint questions

I have almost completed stripping my 64. Is there any trick to removing the lower windsheild stainless? Ecklers told me that any body work including filler should be done before gel coating. Is that correct? After gel coating, I plan to use 2K urethane primer. Any recomendations? This is not a frame off, just freshening up a great driver.

There is a special tool for the lower mld. clips. You should be able to find it at most good auto parts stores. It is flat with a hook to hang the lip of the clip.
