The horn relay (#3992683) in my 1972 small block needs to be replaced. I would like some advice about a proper replacement. There are relays available from several vendors and I was wondering the experience other members have had in selecting a replacement. I want to maintain the originality of the car. The original relay has a cream-color plastic base and a crimp on each of the short sides to hold the metal cap in place. Thanks for your help.

Replacement Horn Relay for 1972
John....
Pirkle was my choice as well.... however,,, he has been out of them for quite sometime..... He only has restored original ones when he has them. While mine still works,,,,I too would be interested in having a back up while they are still obtainable..(well maybe better said if and when can be found) Under those circumstances who is the best source for reproductions or is there a secondary source for restored originals with the same quality as John Pirkle's??- Top

Re: Replacement Horn Relay for 1972
I've found NOS ones on eBay and at Carlisle without too much problem.
In addition, I think (?) a replacement that looks close is available.
