1957 FI Fuel Filter Question

I am trying to determine which FI fuel filter top is correct for my application. I am restoring a FI car and the VIN number is 3382. I believe that the car was made somewhere on or about April 15, 1957.

It is my understanding that there were 2 designs for the fuel filter tops. One design had a rounded shoulder near the fittings, and the other design had square shoulders in this location.

Does anyone know which design would be correct for my car?

Round was first design on early 57, the number vin change for it is always up to discussions

Square approximately April 15th to May 1st, but

the exact change over date from round to square line bosses is unknown. Probably, okay with either one. Gary....

Ashley, You most likely should be using a filter top with square bosses. Gary Pronesti and I have discussed this for years. Round bosses good until some time in March. ON the other hand better check with the JM as I have not. The above is just an opinion based on seeing a ton of them on original cars. Ask John St. Peter for more accurate info. Besides being the team leader he knows '57's. Also good at parking trailers.
