    1971 LT1 T.I. ignition

    Did all 71 lt1 cars have ti ignition.It's not listed with the CGZ engine code,as is with the 70 ctu code.72 had no ti at all.Is it possible my car came without it.All #'s match,but no ti.has correct dated base engine dist in it 1112050.Help?

    Current judging advice says:

    "TGransistor ignition is available as a separate option only in 1970. In 1971 it is available only as part of an engine package, either LT1 or LS6."

      Possible? Probably. There's not much that isn't possible in the assmbly-line process. Probable? Not really.
      Provable? Only if you can track the car from day 1--and not necessarily even then.
      That is certainly a deviation from standard, and your documentation back to day 1 would be critical.
      What's more likely, and I hate to say this, is that the car started out as something other than an LT-1, and not all the homework was done properly in creating the clone.
