    brake booster

Original booster on my 77.Cosmetically,very ugly. What goes wrong with these things? Do I just glass bead and restore or is it worn out at this point.I cannot check it,lets assume it was working when previous owner parked the car.

    Re: brake booster

The original booster on my 70 is still working very well. If the booster is installed and the master cylinder is still installed you could put another car next to it, run a length of vacuum hose from a running car suppling the vacuum to your 77's booster and see what happens. I removed mine several years ago to repaint it, the master cylinder leaked brake fluid and ruined the paint below the back of the master cylinder. I just sanded the booster by hand and repainted it gloss black.

      Mike,

I just did the same thing as Jim on my 75's booster. Although I did replace the front rubber seal. It was relatively to restore the booster. Good luck
