People who know this option are very rare nowadays, because original exhausts are long gone on most of the 1968 corvette, on which this option was only available this year, and assembled on 4,695 cars only. However, i do not have common one on mine, and i am still curious if they could be the famous "off road exhausts". They do a nice noise and i wish i could post a picture here. If you have any knowledge of this option, please contact me at christianblanchon@yahoo.com. thanks for your help.

It is very difficult to distinguish an original N-11 system from a standard exhaust system on a 1968 Corvette. However, as a first cut, are the rear exhaust pipes welded to the mufflers at the muffler OR is there a slip joint which connects muffler extensions to the rear exhaust pipes? The slip joint may be retained by a clamp or it may be welded. By the way, the rear exhaust pipe is the pipe which extends from the transmission crossmember joint with the forward pipe back to the mufflers.
If there is a slip joint on one or both mufflers, then those mufflers are definitely not original to the car.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Thanks for your answer.
I did not take a look at what your are asking, but i will. However, my mufflers are very different from the original. Mine are much smaller in diameter. If you give an Email adress, i will be happy to send you pictures of them. You'll be able to judge.
Thanks,

The N-11 mufflers were exactly the same size and configuration as the standard mufflers. Externally, there was no difference, at all. All of the differences were internal. I will send you my e-mail address and you can e-mail the pictures and I'll be happy to take a look at them.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
