Hi, Can anyone tell me what color the hood stripes and letters should be on an orange 1972 LT-1 Coupe? Were they white with black outlines, all balck or Black with white? I do not have a 1972 judging manual so I can't look there for any help (I hope they are ready some time soon). If it makes a differance the car has a saddle leather interior. Best regargs to all and thanks for any help. Rick

Re: 1972 LT-1 Hood Stripes and Letters
Thanks for that information... I don't have the Corvette news you mention but we do have the stencils. Were the LT-1 decals also black or were the white with a block outline? Thanks, RickRick Jones

Re: 1972 LT-1 Hood Stripes and Letters
Hello Rick,
The LT-1 decal is black outline with white outline on the inside of the black.
It is important to layout the stencil stripe from the edge of the hood near windsheild side.

Be carful,1970 strips are different from 71,72.They have a tear drop effect on front, and two different thickness stripes- Top

Close-up of '72 (I think) hood stripes and decal
Photo taken in July 1972, so it's probably original.

The replacement LT-1 decals I have seen are white in the center of the lettering. They are not correct unless as shown in the photo from Wayne. Does anyone know where correct decals can be purchased.- Top
