57 270 HP Dual Quad Carb Aircleaner Wing Nuts

Does anyone know what the correct wing nuts for the Carburator Aircleaners should look like and where I can get them for my 1957 270HP Dual Quad?

    THX

I posted that early picture of the 56/57 engine as seen below that showed the acorn nuts.

However..one might want to check the 57 AIM..and see what was shown there...as well.

I had acorn nuts on my survivor 57 #4353 283/245.

There is some adjustment in the carbs threaded rod..but as I recall..not much with the original very thick carb to air cleaner gasket..resulting in using the acorn nuts. Also..helps with hood clearance.

Surely others on this board will have experience to comment from.

I was never able to get a solid answer to that question when I had my '57 270, but maybe we can today; I THINK it's one of these three, but I don't know for sure. The assembly manual calls out P/N 3736162 for the '57 2x4 air cleaner wingnuts, but I don't have that drawing to determine its configuration.

I checked my 57 AIM and it shows wing nut part # 3736162 as John pointed out.

As I recall..there is at least a 4th design wing nut with a stamped concave wing which the AIM drawing reminded me of.. Maybe someone can comment further.

Early photographed cars for promotional purposes point out interesting details..but like parts buck engines..not all the parts were production.

Thank you all! There seems to be more then one answer. I have checked the Corvette Restoration and Technical Guide by Noland Adams. He has a technical illustration for the correct wing nut 3736162 on page 165 and it looks like the middle one and one page 166 he has pictures of on e with the middle ones too. However there were another picture on page 166 with a completely different ones. It looks like a flat washer with indented wings on the side. This type was also listed on ebay yeasterday and the Seller claims to have them verified by NCRS Judges to be correct (I tried to leave the link in this message). Let me know if anyone has any of these two variations of wingnut for sale (the middle illustration above or the flat washer with indented wings on the side.

                Many THX

Hey, that is my picture! It is most likely not the right one since I bought it new from Paragon.

Because of the rescease in the air cleaner being concaved I never saw a flat round washer type wing nut being used on any C1 , the edge would cut into the air cleaner material , but I've seen other design nuts like the middle one you showed ,

I should also say I found the center one turned onto a heater housing stud on the firewall. it was painted over black from some "restoration" many years before I bought the car. Looks like someone took it off the air cleaner and screwed it there while doing something and then forgotten. The left hand one was on the air cleaner when I bought the car. (62 340)
