1968 Early vs Late

Guys,

I have a 1968 Convertible that I am going to try to restore to an origional state. I am wondering if it would have any of the Early parts on it.

Body Date Code: C19

If you have looked at the link, yes it does have a long way to go. Whole new font clip and rear clip. cosmetic work to the engine compartment. I have already sourced the wiper door assembly. It is turning out to be a fun project.

If your VIN is 194678S407246, the build date on the trim tag should be E20 -- December 20, 1967. I suggest you check these numbers again to be sure what you have.

Also it's common to confuse a "C" and a "G" on these tags.

Mine is a Feb. 68 built car and has many "early" components and some "late" ...

A late 67 built 68 would likely have early items.

I agree with Terry, be sure of what you have before you get too far into it so you know all your options.
