    1976 Key-switch alarm

My fender alarm became inoperable this past weekend. Is there a fuse in the main fuse box which controls the alarm. If so, what is its location in the box. Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: 1976 Key-switch alarm

Looked up the circuit topology in my copy of the '76 Corvette wiring diagram (publication ST359-76 gives full schematic diagrams for all '76 Chevys). The alarm power lead appears un-fused, connected to the hot side of the 20A fuse labeled 'Ctsy-Ltr-Clk' which is common to the BAT power tap in the fuse block. Makes sense...you want the alarm 100% active!

Power flows from the fuse block on circuit no. 140 (14 Ga Org), through the firewall connector, to the arming switch. Then, back on circuit no. 975, through several electrical junctions to the alarm relay and alarm horn.

      found problem

The alarm switch in the fender well cracked just above the threads. It looked as if it was OK but was leaning away from the key contact. Just ordered a new part. Thanks.........Dave
