    choke question

when a choke is closed is there supposed to be tension over ahd above it just being closed? and if so does this have any other affects on the working of cold starting.

    Re: choke question

Well, yes, but I can't think of exactly how to quantify it for you. Obviously, it depends on manifold temp, but even on a "warm" engine, there is generally a slight bit of tension on the choke valve. This should quickly diminish as the manifold comes back to op temp.

Best I can say, is set your choke spring as per Shop Manual recommendation, and MAKE SURE THAT THE CHOKE ROD LENGTH HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED.
