    '69 BB Ignition Wire Shielding

My '69 BB has replacement (red) silicone wires with, what appear to be, the ignition shieldings which were part of the initial assembly. I would like to replace the wires with correct ones but retain the shielding

Here's the question: Do the weather boots at the distributor end of reproduction (non-shielded) plug wires from 'Lectric Limited slide off? If so, I could remove the shielding from the RED wires and place them on the new reproduction wires.

    Thanks for your assistance,
    Kent #6201

PS: Posted a second time due to no initial response. Do you want to see my '67 again at Old Town for the umpteenth time since my '94 Duntov or would you like to see a one (previous) owner '69 427/435 that's never been shown???

Ken, with a lot of patience and silicone, you can remove the boots and slide the braiding on the repro wires. Usually you end up replacing the connectors also.

      Dick,

Thanks my friend. Also, thanks for your email. Patience, I'll find to accomplish the task. Maybe a taping of the ends will help slide the distributor end boots off and then through the original shields. Any thoughts?
