C3-Distributer cap

I have come across 2 cap's and need to see which one could be used on my 72 base 350. One just says Delco Remy patent pending and the other says Delco Remy Patent 571594. Any suggestions?

72 was the last year for patent pending R later years use patent#.

So the cap with just the patent pending will not work?

The patent pending cap without the "R" is highly desired in the 63-67 era, and if you have onr for sale/trade should easily result in your being able to obtain a Patent Pending "R" cap that is correct for your car.
