Norm, I called the same number last Saturday about 10:00 am. Fred's wife answered after 3 rings. I was just checking to see if my clutch arrived. She asked that I call back next week to check status.

I understand your struggle! The clutch fan NAPA gives for my car is 273370 and it wasn't correct just by looking at it as I fortunatally took my old clutch fan with me. For some reason I think they might have had the wrong part in the box since it had smaller fan mounting height than the catalog stated.

Next I had them look up a 327-300 clutch fan for the full-size Chevy of the same year. It turned up NAPA #263325 (not the 273325 you found.) The 263325 would have fit but it was a centrifigal fan, not thermostatic.

Before I got your reply about NAPA #273325, I went ahead and bought the one on Ebay for $95. I'll let you know how it works when it arrives.

How much do you want to bet the miss-boxed 273370 I returned in September took the short trip from Detroit to Columbus to find you shortly after?

I could tell from the glazed look in his eyes the counter man was not interested how the part measured or matched up with the manufacturer's data sheet.

Truly, today's replacement industry is self service.
