Re: C2 GM Racing Exhaust
Norm,
I think you have the wrong item number. I assume you are referring to item #260034876640. It's an NOS N11 off road exhaust. It has 3 baffles instead of the 5 baffles of the standard exhaust. They are louder than standard exhaust but have less back pressure. These have been discontinued by GM for many years and are very hard to find. I wanted these for my 65, but was outbid - close but no cigar. Hopefully, someone will make an exact repro of these so my car will sound like it's supposed to sound!

Re: Correct Ebay # 260034876640... Sorry
Norm------
It was a high price, but the item was discontinued a long time ago and are quite hard to find these days. For discontinued items that are in short supply, it's pretty much what the market will bear---there's finite availability. Personally, I think that this was more than the items would be worth. However, if one has been looking for them for awhile, have come up dry so far, and really want them, then I suppose one might have a different perspective.
The shocks are another matter entirely. These are still available from GM (you have to do your own gray painting, though). Parts that you can still obtain from GM are NEVER, EVER worth more than the GM list price. These shocks sold for about TWICE what the 2 shocks would cost at GM list. Since you can easily purchase them for about 25% off GM list, that means that the person paid about 3 TIMES what they could have been had for.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
