Re: 67 radio speaker removal
first, stop by the liquor store for a 6 pak that you'll enjoy at the conclusion. remove glove box then radio side panels then radio then be prepaired for the difficult part of removing the 4 nuts holding the speaker in place. its an evening job at best. good luck, mike- Top

Re: 67 radio speaker removal
On the passenger side, remove the glove box and you can gain access to the nuts. On the driver side, the nut closest to the rear of the car is blocked by the center vent manifold-you have to pull the cluster. Some have said they can get to the nut with a swivel socket-I don't think so as I have tried many times so I would not have to remove the cluster.- Top

Re: 67 radio speaker removal
Mike,
Are you sure it was an air car? How many beers?
I am trying to do this very thing on my friends 66 (see my post about 2 weeks ago) and the forward nut on the drivers side is just above the center vent duct work. That weird design of the cable passing thru the duct and cloth hose!! Can't barely see the nut let alone put a socket on it. I can't push the duct back for access and I am hoping if I removes the cluster I can gain access from the side.

Re: 67 radio speaker removal
Bill/Randy,
If you have a copy of Vette magazine May 1993 issue, Dave Walters did a step by step article on removing the speaker from a 67 A/C car....Page 12.... he says you (But not Mikie) have to remove the Cluster......hope this helps.- Top

Re: 67 radio speaker removal
I did my 67, C-60, radio speaker many years ago. It was a b---- (thats bummer). I forgot how I got them off, but I remember I only put 3 back on. It laid flat and I put it together. Its still that way 30 some years later. Dale- Top
