I recently replace the weather-stripping on my 69 coupe. When I tried to adjust the window to seal properly, following the instructions in the service manual, I could not get it to adjust. I can not get the window to adjust aft far enough to get it to seal at top with the T-top weather-stripping. Could the sloppy regulator rollers contribute to the problem I have adjusting the window?
Since the windows didn't roll up and down easily, I decided that it was best to check the regulator assembly. I pulled the regulator assembly out and cleaned it. When I cleaned it notice that the rollers were loose. There are no flat spots but they do wobble about 1/8 inch. How much play should they have?
I did a search in the archives on regulators and found one discussion where they were talking about new rollers not turning vary easy and they were just guides and the lubrication should be in the tracks?
Any help would be appreciated.
