    1964 AO Smith car

This past July "Joe 32899" found a 1964 AO Smith car with the drill starts for the p/w cable cutout area in the hinge pillar. I recently bought a 64' Smith car and it had the dimples and large head rivets on the door. I was told, by a mid-year judge, that only St. Louis cars had this. Has anyone who judges these cars seen this on other AO Smith cars?
    Thanks,Gene

    Here Is The Whole Thread

    Gene,

A certain combination of rivets and dimples will enable a good judge to make a fair determination.

      Gene,
The big head rivets on the doors are only on a AO Smith body. Small rivets are on a St Louis body. Sounds as if someone got their wires crossed.

Plus, Some Good Ole' Common Sense

Using the NEW/CURRENT NCRS rationale, any 1963-1967 Corvette without documentation is like "A Man Without A Country". Most AO Amith bodied Corvettes will not raise any eyebrows. If your tag says SMITH, then, trust me, you have little to worry about, other than color/trim codes.
