    car ramps

Any opinions on car ramps that you drive up on as opposed to using a jack.
Worried about using a jack on my C1. Thanks

Worry also about the lower front valance, by the parking lights, scraping on the ramps. They need to be fairly gently-sloped ramps.

      Re: car ramps

I have used a set of steel ramps for years. They are the one piece, stamped type, with a brace welded on each side to streghten them. Never had a problem. Actually like them for quick fixes and when jack stands on the frame would be a problem.
Love them for oil changes. Always set the parking brake and chock the wheeels. I have someone guide me on if available. Just don't run off them! Then you'll need the jack!

        Re: car ramps

Ron, I have a set of the grey colored (don't know the number) Rhino ramps that I picked up at a local Autozone/Advanced Auto for about $30. Use them with my '54 and '78. Never had a clearance problem with either car.

Definitely DO NOT use the C1 jack!

            Re: car ramps

Even with the car ramps, it doesn't hurt, and it doesn't take much effort to put jackstands under the frame. If the ramps fails, the car would fall on the jackstand. Belt and suspenders.

Make sure to chock the rear wheels.
