    67 327 L79?

Good Morning! I was wonder how do I tell if my 67 coupe has an L79 motor with 350 horse. All the numbers match regarding the block and serial number. Thank you! jds

    John------

I'm not sure that I completely understand your question; if all the numbers match, your car should be an L-79 if that's what the numbers say. But, I'll offer this:

If an L-79 your engine's suffix code located on the engine pad(this is the sequence beginning with "V" and ending with a two alpha character suffix code should be "HD", "HP", "HT",or "KH". If you have any of these codes, your engine was originally an L-79. Of course, without disassembly, there's no way to tell if it's still configured to L-79 specs. However, a few external things that you might look for are a GM aluminum intake manifold of casting #3890490 and a harmonic balancer of 8" diameter.

I have a 67 with a 327/350 4-Speed and the Engine code has the suffix HT. If you have that you have a 350 horse. I think the suffix may be different for a powerglide.
