I have a correct, new lable for the A/C compressor, but it has no date.
Ya'll know of anyone that stamps the date code into the air conditioning compressor foil labels? I could stamp one, but I'm not sure how to fill in the numbers w/ black.
Any ideas that would work, and maybe even pass judging?

Way back when, I worked at Texas Instruments and we used foil labels for the VIN tags on our minicomputers & data terminals. They came in roll form and were typed manually using an IBM Selectric. BUT, there was a 'special' cartridge ribbon that was used that had 'sticky' ink that would adhere to and fill in the impact depressions in the foil.
I've shopped some of the remaining catalog suppliers of Selectric ribbons looking for this kind of cartridge without sucess. The closest I've gotten is a few owner/managers who said, "Yeah, I remember that application...can't tell you where you could find one today."
My hunch is you could go to a professional print shop and find a 'good ole boy' who'd know how to skin the cat for you...
