I still can not seem to figure this one out. My wiper system works perfectly(almost). When I turn on the system, the door snaps open, and the wipers work perfectly. When I move the switch to the off position, the wipers stop, and the door snaps shut. The "wiper" light bulb on the dash center console does not come on and stay on. Now the problem, ....... as soon as I turn on my headlights(with the wiper switch off), the wiper light bulb on the center console comes on and stays on, even when the wiper switch is off. Any ideas?

Re: 1968 WIPER LIGHT BULB ON CENTER CONSOLE
Dick,
That would have been an easy fix, but the bulb fixture for the wiper light is different than the normal instrument cluster light bulb fixtures. One would not be able to be put an instrument cluster light onto the wiper light indicator. Any other ideas?- Top

Steve sounds like you have the headlight plug in the wiper lamp indicator socket. The wiper light sounds like it is a ground or power problem in the shop manual wiring print check the color codes of the wires at both the head lamp and wiper lamp and see if they are in the correct socket and if not swap them and then check the problem in the head lamp socket if power is there or not.
