Found a pair of NOS Delco rear shocks that I bought in 1979. 4975341 265 78
Can anyone identify these please. They look about the size for Corvette although a bit fatter. Thanks very much, John
I heard this shocks are for a truck so don't worry about this question. JL must be asleep tonight. Maybe he doesn't have part numbers for dump trucks. RJ says that's what they are for. My friend had a sticker on them that said the shocks fit Corvette and was trying to sell them at flea markets. I gave them to him years ago and now he gave them back. Can see why. Not much call for dump truck shocks. Although my 84 with Z51 rides like a truck. No wonder guys complained about 84's. Still like the car though. Just rides really bad. Low air in tires helps some. John
Well, I have been asleep from time-to-time, including most nights. However, I've been out of town for the past week and I've only "peeked in" on a few occasions.
Anyway, the numbers that you provided sound like numbers on the shocks, themselves. I usually can't ID shocks from these numbers, especially for non-Corvette applications. However, if you have the numbers on the BOX they came in, then I MIGHT be able to ID them.
HI Joe, I just checked the beat up box and the end flap is in bad shape to say the least. No numbers on the box. Jorjorian said they were for a dump truck or garbage truck. They are probably some rare Z06 shock or maybe some pilot car. I'll save them for Corvette Carlisle. Probably be easier to sell than the ones I bought from Mexico. Took those to Corvette Carlisle in August and they helped keep the table from blowing away. Think one of the decals that said Delco blew off though. Another wonderful auction site purchase. Said they were new Delco Remy shocks that fit 63 up. Didn't say though they was foreign made. Nice part. Good for dump truck or garbage truck if anyone wants them. Cheep. oops. Not supposed to sell truck parts here. Sorry. Thanks, John
