I recently finished a complete mechanical overhaul of my 71 LS5 drive train. Rebuilt engine, Rebuilt trans, new clutch & pp, rebuilt differential. All done to original specs, nothing fancy here. The only thing I didn't do personally is the trailing arms and they were done by a very reputable shop.
Went for a long drive today and after stopping for gas I heard a "clicking" sound coming from the left rear when making a left turn. At first I thought I picked up a stone in the tire. Stopped to check, no stone. Went to a parking lot and did some tight circles. Clicking noise happens only when turning left and comes from the left rear. Seems to be once per tire revoulution. Does not do it when making right turns.
Car has about 150 miles since overhaul. I did use the posi additive in the diff and it does not sound like clutch noise to me.
Ideas?
Other then this, the car runs great!
