    Tank Sticker Question

Any comments on the tank sticker for eBay item # 260039267083. Vin is 9426 and expected date of production on the tank sticker is 2/10/66 which doesn't seem to add up. I remember something about errors with these dates on the early 67's built before December from one of Al Grenning's classes. For what its worth I have nothing whatsoever to do with this car or its sale. thanks

    Re: Tank Sticker Question

John, the expected date of prod for my # 7471 is 1-20-66. I don't know when they corrected the 66 to 67. BTW my car was built the first week of Jan.

      Re: Tank Sticker Question

The '66 date carryover is quite common for stickers that were generated during Dec '66 for 1967 production. Remember how long it took to change your mindset when writing a date around the first of Jan....same thing happened then.

The sticker is also authentic. Nice car.

I forgot to mention that this car should have under car exhaust (offroad), blackwall tires, and a white convert top..... with an auxiliary top in the garage if this sticker came with this car

At that time yes... all "expected date of production" were Fridays and 02-10-67 is a Friday.

                Re: Tank Sticker Question

The car was completed (per VIN#) on 1/31/67. The EXP DATE OF PROD was an estimate of completion which was determined when the sticker was typed. In this case, that estimate was made probably in early DEC 1966, which would be DATE RECEIVED on the sticker if the sticker corner were intact.
