    C2 67 L79 Base Carb Gasket

Ok, I need a Fel-Pro, Mr Gasket, or whateverpart number so I can get the base carb gasket for my 67 L79 with the 3810 Holley carb. The one I took off my intake manifold has 2 identical holes on one side that match the butterflies, and an oblong hole on the other, it matches my intake perfectly. What I am finding when I go to parts stores is a gasket with 4 holes only. Can anybody help me?

    Thanks.

    Jim------

The gasket you seek, GM #3849825, was discontinued about 25 years ago without supercession.

I don't think that you'll find one exactly like it in the aftermarket. What you'll likely find are exactly what you have found-----open plenum, square bore or 4 hole, square bore. Either of these will work ok for your application, but they're not what was originally used.

I know that Dr. Rebuild sells an exact reproduction of the gasket you desire. Other Corvette vendors may have it, too.

do NOT us a 4 hole gasket over the oval

shaped hole as it will "suck" the gasket into the ontake. cut the 4 hole gasket to the same shape as the original.

This one came from Dr. Rebuild. His # 3726127. About $7.00.

Thanks to all who responded. Nice picture of the intake.

No problem Jimmy. Pleased to send the pic. No one jumped on me for that: an L-79 intake on a 327/300 with Powerglide. Took a few mods to make it work but it does.
