Re: Well, If He Did (And, I'm Pretty Sure He Did).

I'll be happy to share the pix with any who want to send me an email request. But, Pat was right...I don't 'post' pictures on the DB because we archive the posts and our BoD (Board of Directors) decided it wasn't worth the extra storage cost to warehouse pix, audio, video. So, down the road when guys try to use the archives, they'll see 'dead' text with the temporary host sites that originally posted the pix no longer available.

I think we either throw away the archives OR we pony up to the bar and pay the overhead to post our pictures here... So, in the meantime, I'm on a picture 'strike' which is what Pat was saying.

The donor source for the solenoid (yes, I DID capture the sucka) was a '69 El Camino, SB, A/C equipped. Yes, it had a bracket and clamp, but unfortunately it was a rather base engine car/truck 'sporting' a Bay City 2-Bbl carb. So, the bracket/clamp doesn't do much for the HPer Corvette/Camaro crowd...

        Jack and Dick,
I'm not doubting their existance. I'm just questioning the use of them on ALL 68 small block Corvettes with A/C. Especially the early L79 cars. I would even buy that they came later on in the production run but the evidence is far and few between.

Also, has anybody ever seen a 68 sb a/c car with the HT engine suffix?

I am not saying that they came on ALL '68's, but we know for a fact that at least a few came with them (or anti-diesel solenoids)

WHEW! I thought I was going have fork over $850.00 for a bracket

After reading all this, I am still confused as to whether my 68 L79 with A/C should have this solenoid and bracket or not.
Does anyone out there have a 1968 Corvette with the L79 motor and A/C that has the solenoid on the vehicle? There must be a few 68 L79s with A/C out there that can serve as a reference vehicle.
